Summary:

This is an activity full of fun because includes the opportunity of visiting a small lake to do piranha fishing. After this, the adventure continues at the Parrot Clay lick. This is a funny way to learn about the jungle.

Description:

This is a short excursion in the Peruvian Jungle. After a 30 minute drive from Puerto Maldonado there are some lakes with big palm trees. From this point onward the adventure continues in a canoe to do some piranha fishing like the locals.

After fishing, the riverbank is going to become the stage for one of the most spectacular natural shows of the world. The boat is going to be run aground next to the river side to watch the parrots that go there to feed on the salts and minerals of the clay. Hopefully we will see more than 100 parrots!

Know before you go:

• Comfortable clothes and walking shoes.
• A fleece for the boat ride along the river
• Sunblock, hat or cap to protect you from the sun
• Local currency in case you want to buy a souvenir.
